Five No Fuss Foods To Try This Fall

Five No Fuss Foods To Try This Fall

I used to be a pretty picky eater, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself branching out and trying more new foods. I don’t like to eat the same things over and over, so having a variety of food on hand in my refrigerator and in my pantry definitely helps to mix things up and ensure that my husband and I are enjoying different meals each week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

My friends at Babbleboxx recently sent me an assortment of no fuss foods to try out this fall. Each product in this blog post is bold, flavorful and made with ingredients that are good for you. From RAGÚ® Simply Chunky Marinara Pasta Sauce to Red Diamond Medium Roast Classic Blend Coffee, you’re bound to find something in this blog post that will delight your taste buds.

My Favorite Fall Drink Recipes + Capresso MT900 Coffee Maker and froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother Review

My Favorite Fall Drink Recipes + Capresso MT900 Coffee Maker and froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother Review

Happy National Coffee Day! As a way to celebrate, I thought it would be fitting to have a blog post dedicated to coffee today. My husband and I love to experiment with different coffee-inspired drinks and we’re always looking for opportunities to try new blends and recipes. As much as we like to sip on coffee, we’re not afraid to switch things up and add in different flavors like chocolate, vanilla, caramel or frothed milk.

My friends from Capresso sent me their MT900 coffee maker and the froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother. Both of these are must-have products for any coffee lover (the Holidays are coming up, so make sure to keep these in mind for any coffee fans on your list). From a design standpoint, they’re very sleek and modern (both the MT900 and the froth TEC have stainless steel exteriors) and they don’t take up too much counter space. I’m going to highlight the features on both of these products and then I’ll share some great drink recipes that you can make with them later on in this blog post.

The Perfect Headphones for Any Music or Entertainment Lover

The Perfect Headphones for Any Music or Entertainment Lover

Studying, traveling, commuting, working, watching a TV show or movie - theses are all times when someone might wear headphones, right? For me, I wear headphones most often when I’m traveling. If I’m going to sit on a long flight, I like to watch a movie or a TV show to help pass the time. Earlier this month, my husband and I went on a trip to Germany (full recap and travel guide coming to the blog soon). In total, we traveled for just over 16 hours round trip. For the majority of the flight we had headphones on and the entire time I kept thinking of how I needed to get headphones that were more comfortable and provided better sound quality.

How My State is Working to End Homelessness

How My State is Working to End Homelessness

If you’ve been following along with my blog for a while, you know that I moved around a lot growing up and that I’ve lived in different places, but Michigan has always been the place that I call home. I might be biased, but I am a huge fan of this state and I love everything that it has to offer. As a Michigander, I get to experience all four seasons, enjoy great local foods and drinks from small businesses and restaurants in my area and explore all the natural beauty across the lower and upper peninsulas.

I feel so lucky to live and work in this state and to have a roof over my head every night. Being a young millennial homeowner in Michigan is empowering and exciting. Over the past few years, I have learned a lot about homeownership and what it takes to turn a house into a home. Owning a home is an exciting journey – it not only keeps you on your toes and presents new challenges, but it offers you a space to gather with loved ones and celebrate life’s special moments.

Monthly Favorites: August 2018

Monthly Favorites: August 2018

How is it already the end of August?! Summer is my favorite season and it went by in the blink of an eye. I know that a lot of people are fans of fall and can't wait for it to get here (I totally get it - cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice-flavored everything, boots and flannels, etc.), but I'm a summer girl so I'm sad to see this season come to an end. I wish that summer would hang around for a few more weeks, but there are so many things for me to look forward to this fall, so I guess I'm okay with embracing the start of September!

Knowing that August is coming to a close, I wanted to round up my favorite products from this past month. I love sharing these with you all and I'd love to hear if you've used or heard of any of these brands/products. Read on to see my picks for this month!

Discovering Local Michigan-Made Products with Kroger

Discovering Local Michigan-Made Products with Kroger

Living in Michigan, I have the opportunity to enjoy lots of local products that are made right here in the Mitten State. Michigan is home to the Cherry Capital of the World (Traverse City), plenty of popular breweries like Founders Brewing Co., and Dearborn Sausage Co. No matter what types of food you like, you can find great products - ranging from locally grown fruits and vegetables to snacks like potato chips and pickles -  from every corner of Michigan.

My Homeownership Journey

My Homeownership Journey

Owning a home and having a place of your own to take care of is one of the best feelings. A house doesn’t have to just be a roof over your head – it can be so much more than that. It can be a place where you make memories with family and friends, a place you put your own decorative spin on to reflect your personal style and a place that feels more comfortable than anywhere else. When you have all those things, that is, in my opinion, when a house is truly a home.

Growing up, I moved around a lot due to my parents’ jobs. They both worked in the automotive industry and were often transferred to different areas within the U.S. and even in Canada. It seems like we bounced around a lot since we moved back and forth to Michigan several times. In between our moves to and from the Great Lakes State, my family and I lived in Missouri for four years and in Ontario, Canada for one year.

The Best Laptop for Back to School

The Best Laptop for Back to School

It's hard to believe that back to school season is right around the corner. When I was heading into my freshman year of college, one of the biggest decisions that I had to make was the type of laptop that I was going to get. There are so many things to consider when purchasing a laptop – performance, size, battery life, the display, the operating system and more. I recently came across the HP Envy x360 Laptop and I couldn’t believe how many cool features it includes.
