What I'm Looking Forward To This July

It's hard to believe that we're halfway through 2017 already! I really can't believe that July is next week. Seems like I was watching the ball drop on New Years Eve 2016 just yesterday!

July is a busy month for me - I have a lot going on between holidays, plans with friends and fun celebrations. Read below to see what I'm most looking forward to this month!

Independence Day
Can you believe that the 4th of July is right around the corner? It seriously feels like this whole year is moving at lightning speed. Over the holiday weekend, my husband and I will be spending time with my side of the family. It will be great to be together and make some memories. I think the 4th of July is my favorite part of summer. It's so fun to watch fireworks and go to local festivals!
Last year on the 4th my husband was in charge of lighting the fireworks. I loved watching him light each one, run back a bit and then quickly look up to see what each firework looked like. He was having tons of fun and I'm definitely looking forward to him being able to do that again this year!

My husband's birthday
Right after the 4th is my husband's birthday! I love celebrating my husband's birthday more than my own. I get so excited and I always love picking out presents for him. This year it has been tough to find gifts for him since he hasn't really told me what he wants. I've picked up a few things here and there so I won't be empty handed on his actual birthday. He just received his big present - a new car! He decided to lease a Dodge Challenger! It's red with black rims and it has all of the bells and whistles! Not a bad birthday present if you ask me!

Our one-year wedding anniversary
I can't believe that we're closing in on our first wedding anniversary. It feels like this past year has gone by so quickly - like in the blink of an eye! A lot of people say that the first year of marriage is the hardest, but lucky for us, our first year was smooth sailing. There were definitely some ups and downs, but we never faced anything we couldn't handle. Looking back on our wedding day, we have so many memories that we'll cherish forever. We had a great ceremony and reception and the day turned out beautifully despite the rain in the morning. Luckily, the weather cleared up an hour or two before our ceremony and the day went on as planned.
We've been talking about what we want to do to celebrate our anniversary. Right now we're planning on getting dinner at the steakhouse where our wedding reception was. We've also talked about going to get a couples massage, but we're not sure if we want to commit to doing that just yet! We're definitely still brainstorming and trying to come up with ideas. That reminds me, I need to start looking for an anniversary present. Julys will be tough for me moving forward - not only do I have to buy birthday presents, but I also have to buy anniversary presents. My husband is a lucky guy!
