8 Unique Bachelorette Party Ideas

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #50ShadesatWMT  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Now that spring is here, it’s officially wedding season! Brides and grooms across the country are getting ready to roll out the aisle runner and meet at the altar to say “I do” and start their happily ever after. Just like Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey tied the knot in Fifty Shades Freed, so will many other couples in 2018. I'm going to be talking all about the new Fifty Shades Freed (Blu-ray combo pack + exclusive packaging + photo gallery inside) DVD (which is available at Walmart) in today's post, but first I want to give you a little background on the inspiration for this post!

I’m standing up as a bridesmaid in my friend Rachel’s wedding over Memorial Day weekend this year and I’m so excited. The only wedding that I’ve ever been a part of was my own back in 2016. I’ve never been a bridesmaid so I’m looking forward to being there for one of my best friends on her wedding day as she marries the love of her life. Rachel and I grew up together and met our freshman year of high school on the swim team. Ever since then, we’ve been great friends. Although we went to different colleges, we still remained close and every time we get together it’s like nothing has changed.

As Rachel’s wedding draws closer, we've started to think about bachelorette party ideas and how we can celebrate her before the big day comes. Going out to bars or going dancing at clubs isn’t really Rachel's scene and she’d like to do something more low key and simple instead. I told her that I’d help her brainstorm and think of things that we could do to ensure she has a special night with her best girl friends before her wedding day arrives.

If you're in a bridal party this upcoming year and planning a "last fling before the ring" or if you're a bride trying to get inspiration on things to do for your own bachelorette party, you'll definitely want to continue reading. In today's post, I'll be highlighting ways to have a fun bachelorette party that doesn't involve being surrounded by strangers, loud music or lots of alcohol.

1. Go to the spa to relax and recharge before the wedding day

Everyone loves getting pampered. Kick your feet up and get your nails done or enjoy a massage with your bridal party in tow. After the spa session concludes, everyone will feel rejuvenated and ready for the wedding day. Pro tip: check out discount websites to see if you can score a coupon or look on the spa's website before booking to see if they offer discounts for large parties. No matter what, you'll want to make sure you set a date and time that works for everyone and get appointments for everyone on the schedule as soon as possible. Spas can book up quickly, so don't wait until the last minute.

2. Go wine tasting or do a food tour

Drink up! Wine tasting with friends is always a great idea. Do an at-home wine tasting or travel to a vineyard in the area (if there is one). If your bridal party is full of foodies, going on a food tour in your town or in the closets major city would be right up your alley. The idea around a food tour is that you and your friends stop at one restaurant for drinks, head to another for appetizers, pick a different restaurant for the main course and then wrap up by grabbing dessert somewhere else. It’s a great way to try new places and sample a variety of different foods.

3. Travel to a different city or out of the country

If grabbing your passports and heading to a tropical paradise sounds like something you and your friends would enjoy, then start researching destinations and take a mini vacay before the vows are exchanged. This is also a prime opportunity to work on your tan and get that wedding day glow. Search for travel deals or browse around on Pinterest to find cool destinations to visit that you may not have thought about. No matter if you stay in a hotel or rent a house, you'll have a great time.

4. Host a girl’s night in and watch Fifty Shades Freed

Order pizza, paint your nails and snuggle up on the couch while watching the final movie of the Fifty Shades trilogy - the new Fifty Shades Freed Exclusive DVD available at Walmart. This is the perfect movie to watch during a bachelorette party. Watch the story of Anna and Christian unfold and try not to blush.

This movie is sexy, sultry and dramatic so it's the perfect thing to watch to get the bride ready for her upcoming honeymoon (who wouldn’t want to imitate Christian and Anastasia?). When the movie is over, you can play games inspired by Fifty Shades Freed Exclusive DVD like a scavenger hunt or movie trivia.

Fifty Shades Freed Exclusive DVD is the perfect movie to watch during a girl’s night in. With it’s sexy, seductive nature, this film is a great choice for a bachelorette party. One stop at Walmart – to pick up the exclusive Fifty Shades Freed Exclusive DVD, decorations, and party snacks – is all that stands between you and your bridal party and one of the best bachelorette parties ever!

5. Go to a comedy club or a concert

There’s nothing better than laughing until your cheeks hurt with your friends or seeing your favorite musician perform live. Attending an event happening in your local area is a great idea for a bachelorette party. It gives everyone something to look forward to and you can even make signs or decorate matching t-shirts beforehand.

6. Book a cooking, crafts or candle making class

It’s always fun to learn new things and adopt a new set of skills. Bachelorette party goers can participate in a handful of classes to learn how to cook, how to make certain arts and crafts or to make unique specialty items like candles or perfumes. Doing something artsy is fun because everyone will learn something new and have a little souvenir to take home.

7. Play mini golf OR compete against each other on arcade games

Wedding planning can be stressful. Sometimes it’s fun to just feel like a kid again and let go of all your worries. The best way to do that? By playing mini golf or arcade games, of course! Turn the mini golf game into a contest - see who gets the best score and give out a prize. Or, see who can earn the most tickets at the arcade. There's nothing better than a little friendly competition.

8. Lock yourselves away and try and break out of an escape room

Escape rooms are everywhere these days. If you and your bridesmaids like putting on your thinking caps and solving puzzles, this would be the perfect activity to participate in during a bachelorette party. Escape rooms get people talking and working together. They're great if the bride has a lot of friends that don't know each other. If you're looking for a great ice breaker to get a bachelorette party started, this should be at the top of your list.

With everything that goes into wedding planning, sometimes it can be hard to settle on a bachelorette party idea or activity that everyone will enjoy. At the end of the day, bachelorette parties are a great way to celebrate the bride and make her feel special ahead of her big day. So, whether you and your friends go wine tasting or just stay in and watch a movie, the future Mrs. will be so happy to have her friends there to support her and show her some love before saying "I do!"

Have you read any of the Fifty Shades books or have you seen any of the movies? What would your dream bachelorette party look like? I'd love to hear your thoughts, so leave a comment for me down below!
