I’ve been lucky enough to travel within the U.S. and outside of the U.S., but there are still several cities and states that I haven’t visited yet. I find inspiration on places to visit by talking to family and friends, researching online, browsing on social media and by reading about destinations in magazines and books. One of my favorite things to do each year is to create a list of cities that I want to visit. Since getting married, I’ve included in husband in this yearly ritual and we work together to figure out which destinations we want to visit together.Read More
If there's one thing you should know about me it's that I love to travel and be on the go! Going on vacation and exploring new places is so exciting for me. Whether I'm gearing up for a relaxing and laid back beach vacation or jetting off to explore a new city, I have my tried and true packing process and I always have my necessities on hand so that I'm never caught in a new place without my essentials.
Since I grew up traveling, I can pack a suitcase faster than you could imagine. I've been able to get a good grip on what types of bags to pack all my belongings in whether I'm heading somewhere for a day trip or an extended two-week vacay. Since I do a lot of packing (and unpacking) when I go on trips, I thought it would be a good idea to round up four of my favorite bags to travel with. I own all of these products and I can't wait to tell you all about them!Read More
Cozumel is one of my favorite tropical travel destinations. My family and I have been visiting the island for years and I’d consider it one of our go-to vacation spots.
If you don’t know where Cozumel is, it’s in Mexico right off the coast of Playa Del Carmen and southeast of Cancun. The island is about 250 square miles and inhabits over 100,000 people.
It's a great vacation spot because it's easy to get to, pretty affordable and tourist-friendly.
So, if you're looking for a place to spend an upcoming vacation, read on to learn more about places to stay and things to do in Cozumel, Mexico.Read More
One of my favorite sayings is "travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer." Based on my past travel experiences, I can definitely say that this is a true statement for me. If I have money to spend, most of the time I want to save it for upcoming travel plans.
I'm the type of person that loves looking at destinations on travel websites. If I see a place that catches me eye, I price out what it would cost for a week long stay. Getting an idea of the costs involved with traveling gets me motivated to save up so I can go to all of the beautiful places I've heard about from family and friends or destinations that I've read about online.
Today I wanted to share with you why I love to travel.Read More
One of my favorite parts of wedding planning was determining where we were going to go on our honeymoon. What's better than planning a vacation with the one you love? I love to travel and experience new things with my husband, so picking out a honeymoon destination was so much fun.
As we were planning, we had a few destinations picked out for our honeymoon. We knew that we wanted to go somewhere tropical, so we ultimately narrowed down our list to St. Lucia and St. Thomas. At first, St. Lucia was the front runner. We pretty much had our minds made up and actually made a reservation at a Sandals resort on the island. We quickly learned that there was a glitch as we booked our vacation (the website sneakily switched the room type we selected without us noticing), so we had to call the travel company and have our reservation cancelled. After that ordeal, we took a step back and decided to really think about where we wanted to travel to.Read More
I remember the first time I learned to ski. I was 7 years old and I was outfitted in a puffy red, pink and blue jacket paired with rented boots and skis. My sister and I were instructed by our great uncle who still gives skiing lessons to this day.
We learned all the basics like making a "pizza" to stop and spreading your arms out like an eagle to balance as you go down the hill. I'll never forget holding on to the rope to be towed up the bunny hill and my first time getting on to a chairlift. Since then, I've become an avid skier. My family and I went on ski trips almost every spring break as I grew up.
If you know how to ski or snowboard, you can probably appreciate my take on the best parts of going on a ski/snowboard trip:
I'm a big fan of traveling! When I have a trip planned I always look forward to it and I literally count down the days until I depart. I love to go to new places and see new things, especially with the ones I love.
When it comes to packing my bags, I'm always thinking ahead and planning out what I'll need based on the weather forecast at my destination, the activities I have planned and the number of days I'll be there. I feel much more comfortable being prepared and having everything I need with me when I travel. Whether you're going on a vacation soon or traveling for business, I've put together a list of extra things I pack whenever I go on a trip.Read More
Ever heard of Santorini, Greece? It's a little island southeast of Athens surrounded by the Aegean sea. It's famous for it's sweeping ocean views, blue domed churches and white villas that line rocky cliffs. It is the definition of a dream vacation destination. For me, Santorini will always be a special place. I was lucky enough to visit on a Mediterranean cruise through the Greek Isles with my family and my boyfriend's family back in August 2015.Read More
