Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone and the holidays are right around the corner, it’s time for me to reflect on all of the fun that I’ve had this past fall. In my opinion there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing the leaves change colors each fall in Michigan. It’s one of my favorite parts of being a Michigander. I’m so lucky to live in a state that experiences all four seasons. The Mitten State has warm summers, crisp falls, cold winters and mild springs, so there are plenty of things to look forward as each season changes.Read More
I’ve been lucky enough to travel within the U.S. and outside of the U.S., but there are still several cities and states that I haven’t visited yet. I find inspiration on places to visit by talking to family and friends, researching online, browsing on social media and by reading about destinations in magazines and books. One of my favorite things to do each year is to create a list of cities that I want to visit. Since getting married, I’ve included in husband in this yearly ritual and we work together to figure out which destinations we want to visit together.Read More
If there's one thing you should know about me it's that I love to travel and be on the go! Going on vacation and exploring new places is so exciting for me. Whether I'm gearing up for a relaxing and laid back beach vacation or jetting off to explore a new city, I have my tried and true packing process and I always have my necessities on hand so that I'm never caught in a new place without my essentials.
Since I grew up traveling, I can pack a suitcase faster than you could imagine. I've been able to get a good grip on what types of bags to pack all my belongings in whether I'm heading somewhere for a day trip or an extended two-week vacay. Since I do a lot of packing (and unpacking) when I go on trips, I thought it would be a good idea to round up four of my favorite bags to travel with. I own all of these products and I can't wait to tell you all about them!Read More
This weekend my husband and I were invited to stay as guests at the Graduate in Ann Arbor, MI. Although we didn't go to the University of Michigan, we still root for the maize and blue, so getting an invitation to check out the hotel and spend some time in the heart of Ann Arbor was something that we couldn't pass up. My husband had visited Ann Arbor with his friends a lot while he was in college, so he was more familiar with the city when we visited than I was, which proved to be helpful as we walked around and explored. He pointed out all the hot spots that he and his friends used to visit and we discovered some new places along the way as we spent the afternoon downtown. Read on to learn more about Ann Arbor and why you need to stay at Graduate when you visit!Read More

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that my husband and I got married last summer and we spent our honeymoon in St. Thomas! We had the time of our lives and enjoyed everything from delicious food to awesome snorkeling adventures.
As we left our wedding reception and were heading to our hotel for the night, I received a voicemail saying that our flight for the next day was cancelled. I was absolutely devastated. After experiencing an extreme high all day long, it seemed like everything crashed and burned that night with the news that we wouldn’t be able to start our honeymoon right away like we anticipated.Read More
Traveling during any season is great, but there's something about traveling in the summer that makes going to a new place and experiencing new things extra exciting. For one, many people take time off during the summer since it's a prime time to use vacation days and spend time with family or friends. With the warmer weather during the summer months, there are more opportunities to be outdoors and do various activities like biking, walking around in a new city or even eating on the patio of a new restaurant.
I myself have lots of plans to travel this summer and I can't wait! In case you missed it, I touched on my 2017 travel plans in a post a few weeks back. If there is one thing that I am extra stern on when I travel, it's safety. I am always aware of my surroundings and I'm always watching what other people are doing. I think it's very unfortunate that people prey on tourists, but in today's world it's not uncommon to hear about things that go wrong when people travel.Read More
Instagram has certainly changed the way people capture and share photos when they travel. With hashtags and location tags, people can easily search for any destination and skim through photos posted by others. I have definitely searched location tags to find photos from other travelers before heading out on a vacation or trip of my own. There's something so cool about seeing shots from others - you can find cool places to visit, new restaurants to try out or even fun activities to partake in during your travels.Read More
