How My Husband and I are Planning for Our Future Family with CCRM

How do you know when you’re ready to have a baby? From what I’ve heard, no one is really ready for parenthood. It’s just something that you fully embrace when the time is right. Seeing my friends start families of their own has been so eye-opening and it’s been great to see the way that they care for and interact with their children. My husband, Kyle, and I have talked about having kids and starting a family of our own one day. Before getting married, we discussed our plans for the future and when children might fit into the picture and we both agreed that we wanted to be married for a few years and enjoy being newlyweds before welcoming a baby.

How I'm Working Toward my Financial Goals with Huntington Bank

As a young millennial, I have a lot of things going on in my life. Between my full-time job, blogging, traveling, spending time with family and friends and just general hobbies, I’m always on the go. Since I’m awfully busy, I have to carve out time to spend on tasks like paying bills and sorting out my finances. I like to set aside time every few weeks to go over anything and everything related to banking. I have found that being intentional with my finances has made such a difference, especially after entering “adulthood.”

My Homeownership Journey

My Homeownership Journey

Owning a home and having a place of your own to take care of is one of the best feelings. A house doesn’t have to just be a roof over your head – it can be so much more than that. It can be a place where you make memories with family and friends, a place you put your own decorative spin on to reflect your personal style and a place that feels more comfortable than anywhere else. When you have all those things, that is, in my opinion, when a house is truly a home.

Growing up, I moved around a lot due to my parents’ jobs. They both worked in the automotive industry and were often transferred to different areas within the U.S. and even in Canada. It seems like we bounced around a lot since we moved back and forth to Michigan several times. In between our moves to and from the Great Lakes State, my family and I lived in Missouri for four years and in Ontario, Canada for one year.

8 Ways to Spend Extra Time With Your Loved Ones

8 Ways to Spend Extra Time With Your Loved Ones

How do you spend time with the ones you love? Do you eat dinner together every night? Do you go on fun outings? For me, spending time with someone I love, my husband, starts with coffee. Growing up, I never really drank coffee and that was mostly because my parents weren’t coffee drinkers. We only served coffee in our house if we had guests over and I never had my first sip of it until I was in high school. When I started dating my husband while we were both in college, we would often meet up at coffee shops and work on our homework together. We both went to different schools, so we had a long-distance relationship, but we were able to connect by introducing each other to new things. My husband loves coffee and he encouraged me to try a new drink each time we hung out. Thanks to him, coffee definitely grew on me and with every sip I wondered how I had ever lived without it.

The Perfect Pair: Asian Pulled Pork Tacos and Diet Coke® Zesty Blood Orange

One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to plan out my meals for the upcoming week. I feel so much more organized when I create a grocery list, pick out the ingredients that I need at the store and know what I'll be cooking ahead of time. When I'm in the kitchen, I like to make easy recipes that are full of flavor.

Lately, I've been experimenting with all sorts of different recipes. I've made everything from hearty soups to refreshing salads! Each day I crave something different and having an assortment of recipes to choose from keeps things interesting.

Mixed Berry Green Tea Recipe + Capresso Iced Tea Maker Review

Mixed Berry Green Tea Recipe + Capresso Iced Tea Maker Review

When I was growing up, my grandma always had a decanter filled with freshly brewed iced tea in her refrigerator. I can remember sitting on the back porch at my grandparents house with my family drinking iced tea during the summer months. Now, my parents are the ones that always have iced tea in their fridge. My mom loves to make sun tea and serve it over ice. It's the perfect way to cool down on a hot day.

Through my grandparents and my parents, I've definitely become fond of tea. When I'm sick the first thing I reach for is a cup of hot tea with lemon. On chilly winter mornings, I'll also warm up with a cup of tea after arriving to the office and reading emails.

Out of all the types of tea out there, I love green tea best since it's packed with nutrients and it has many health benefits. As much as I love green tea, sometimes it can be boring to drink without adding something extra. I love adding slices of lemon to add more flavor to hot tea and lately my go-to add-in for iced tea has been mixed berries.

Road Tripping in the 2017 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring

Road Tripping in the 2017 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring

Growing up in Michigan I’ve been around cars my whole life. My grandpa was a car salesman and both of my parents worked in the automotive industry for their entire careers. Having the Motor City in my backyard and being able to attend events like the North American International Auto Show and the Woodward Dream Cruise every year was and still is so special.

Before landing the job that I have now, I worked at an advertising agency with a few different automotive clients. I used to develop social media content for major car brands and I helped with different advertising initiatives as well. While I held this role, I was able to learn a lot about cars. I used to read owner’s manuals to try and find content to pull from for my projects/tasks. So, since that job exposed me to tons of automotive tidbits, it’s safe to say that I know a lot about cars, especially automotive maintenance and vehicle features.
