How do you know when you’re ready to have a baby? From what I’ve heard, no one is really ready for parenthood. It’s just something that you fully embrace when the time is right. Seeing my friends start families of their own has been so eye-opening and it’s been great to see the way that they care for and interact with their children. My husband, Kyle, and I have talked about having kids and starting a family of our own one day. Before getting married, we discussed our plans for the future and when children might fit into the picture and we both agreed that we wanted to be married for a few years and enjoy being newlyweds before welcoming a baby.Read More
Every generation is different, but there’s just something about millennials, right? GEN Y is the largest living generation and they’re making a splash across a variety of mediums. As the first segment to truly embrace the internet, millennials are all over the latest and greatest social media platforms and it’s no surprise that so many millennials (like myself) have started their own blogs.
GEN Y has embraced everything about connecting with people online and using their platforms as a way to share everything from their favorite products to what they’ve been up to in their daily lives.Read More
Fall is in full swing and Thanksgiving has come and gone! This past holiday, my husband and I celebrated with his side of the family. Everyone in his family is spread out across the U.S., so it was nice to be together and spend quality time with one another. One of my favorite things about holiday gatherings is picking out the place settings and table décor. Leading up to Thanksgiving, I was brainstorming ways to decorate the table for this year’s Thanksgiving and I have some great ideas to share with you for your next Thanksgiving. Aside from setting the table with autumn-inspired décor, one of the most important things I decide on each year is the type of wine that my family and I will toast with. Before the Thanksgiving meal is served, it’s always great to have a toast, say “cheers” and clink glasses with those around the table.Read More
I used to be a pretty picky eater, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself branching out and trying more new foods. I don’t like to eat the same things over and over, so having a variety of food on hand in my refrigerator and in my pantry definitely helps to mix things up and ensure that my husband and I are enjoying different meals each week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My friends at Babbleboxx recently sent me an assortment of no fuss foods to try out this fall. Each product in this blog post is bold, flavorful and made with ingredients that are good for you. From RAGÚ® Simply Chunky Marinara Pasta Sauce to Red Diamond Medium Roast Classic Blend Coffee, you’re bound to find something in this blog post that will delight your taste buds.Read More
Living in Michigan, I have the opportunity to enjoy lots of local products that are made right here in the Mitten State. Michigan is home to the Cherry Capital of the World (Traverse City), plenty of popular breweries like Founders Brewing Co., and Dearborn Sausage Co. No matter what types of food you like, you can find great products - ranging from locally grown fruits and vegetables to snacks like potato chips and pickles - from every corner of Michigan.Read More
Over the week of the Fourth of July, my husband and I headed up to Northern Michigan for a week of fun in the sun. My parents have a house on a large lake, so we couldn’t wait to get to their place so we could go swimming, ride jetskis and just relax. We ended up taking the whole week off of work to celebrate the Fourth and my husband’s birthday, so it was really nice to get away and spend time with family.
There is so much to do and see in Northern Michigan, so I knew that we were going to be on the go a lot during our week-long vacation. Between the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City (which takes place during the week of the Fourth) and visiting wineries on Old Mission peninsula, our family had a jam-packed itinerary with lots of activities planned each day.Read More
Now that spring is here, it’s officially wedding season! Brides and grooms across the country are getting ready to roll out the aisle runner and meet at the altar to say “I do” and start their happily ever after. Just like Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey tied the knot in Fifty Shades Freed, so will many other couples in 2018. I'm going to be talking all about the new Fifty Shades Freed (Blu-ray combo pack + exclusive packaging + photo gallery inside) DVD (which is available at Walmart) in today's post, but first I want to give you a little background on the inspiration for this post!
I’m standing up as a bridesmaid in my friend Rachel’s wedding over Memorial Day weekend this year and I’m so excited. The only wedding that I’ve ever been a part of was my own back in 2016. I’ve never been a bridesmaid so I’m looking forward to being there for one of my best friends on her wedding day as she marries the love of her life. Rachel and I grew up together and met our freshman year of high school on the swim team. Ever since then, we’ve been great friends. Although we went to different colleges, we still remained close and every time we get together it’s like nothing has changed.Read More
During the last weekend in April my husband and I were invited to stay at The H Hotel in downtown Midland, Michigan. The H Hotel is part of Dolce Hotels and Resorts, which is a part of the Wyndham Hotel Group. As a travel blogger, I love to explore new places and check out different hotels, so I knew this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.
Prior to visiting The H Hotel for our overnight stay, I had been to Midland a few times, but I had never visited the downtown area, so I was excited to spend a little bit of time in this quaint town and see everything it had to offer. Midland is part of the Great Lakes Bay Region – a region in Michigan that also includes Saginaw, Bay City, Flint, Birch Run, Chesaning and Frankenmuth. The area offers plenty of things to do such as outdoor activities, shopping and farmer’s markets.Read More
