How I Set My Thanksgiving Table with Santa Margherita

How I Set My Thanksgiving Table with Santa Margherita

Fall is in full swing and Thanksgiving has come and gone! This past holiday, my husband and I celebrated with his side of the family. Everyone in his family is spread out across the U.S., so it was nice to be together and spend quality time with one another. One of my favorite things about holiday gatherings is picking out the place settings and table décor. Leading up to Thanksgiving, I was brainstorming ways to decorate the table for this year’s Thanksgiving and I have some great ideas to share with you for your next Thanksgiving. Aside from setting the table with autumn-inspired décor, one of the most important things I decide on each year is the type of wine that my family and I will toast with. Before the Thanksgiving meal is served, it’s always great to have a toast, say “cheers” and clink glasses with those around the table.

My Favorite Fall Drink Recipes + Capresso MT900 Coffee Maker and froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother Review

My Favorite Fall Drink Recipes + Capresso MT900 Coffee Maker and froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother Review

Happy National Coffee Day! As a way to celebrate, I thought it would be fitting to have a blog post dedicated to coffee today. My husband and I love to experiment with different coffee-inspired drinks and we’re always looking for opportunities to try new blends and recipes. As much as we like to sip on coffee, we’re not afraid to switch things up and add in different flavors like chocolate, vanilla, caramel or frothed milk.

My friends from Capresso sent me their MT900 coffee maker and the froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother. Both of these are must-have products for any coffee lover (the Holidays are coming up, so make sure to keep these in mind for any coffee fans on your list). From a design standpoint, they’re very sleek and modern (both the MT900 and the froth TEC have stainless steel exteriors) and they don’t take up too much counter space. I’m going to highlight the features on both of these products and then I’ll share some great drink recipes that you can make with them later on in this blog post.

Living in Michigan, I have the opportunity to enjoy lots of local products that are made right here in the Mitten State. No matter what types of food you like, you can find great products - ranging from locally grown fruits and vegetables to snacks like potato chips and pickles -  from every corner of Michigan.

Go Boston Card: The Best Way to Experience Boston

Go Boston Card: The Best Way to Experience Boston

I’ve been lucky enough to travel within the U.S. and outside of the U.S., but there are still several cities and states that I haven’t visited yet. I find inspiration on places to visit by talking to family and friends, researching online, browsing on social media and by reading about destinations in magazines and books. One of my favorite things to do each year is to create a list of cities that I want to visit. Since getting married, I’ve included in husband in this yearly ritual and we work together to figure out which destinations we want to visit together.

My Homeownership Journey

My Homeownership Journey

Owning a home and having a place of your own to take care of is one of the best feelings. A house doesn’t have to just be a roof over your head – it can be so much more than that. It can be a place where you make memories with family and friends, a place you put your own decorative spin on to reflect your personal style and a place that feels more comfortable than anywhere else. When you have all those things, that is, in my opinion, when a house is truly a home.

Growing up, I moved around a lot due to my parents’ jobs. They both worked in the automotive industry and were often transferred to different areas within the U.S. and even in Canada. It seems like we bounced around a lot since we moved back and forth to Michigan several times. In between our moves to and from the Great Lakes State, my family and I lived in Missouri for four years and in Ontario, Canada for one year.

A Weekend Stay at Graduate Ann Arbor

A Weekend Stay at Graduate Ann Arbor

This weekend my husband and I were invited to stay as guests at the Graduate in Ann Arbor, MI. Although we didn't go to the University of Michigan, we still root for the maize and blue, so getting an invitation to check out the hotel and spend some time in the heart of Ann Arbor was something that we couldn't pass up. My husband had visited Ann Arbor with his friends a lot while he was in college, so he was more familiar with the city when we visited than I was, which proved to be helpful as we walked around and explored. He pointed out all the hot spots that he and his friends used to visit and we discovered some new places along the way as we spent the afternoon downtown. Read on to learn more about Ann Arbor and why you need to stay at Graduate when you visit!
