Now that the holidays are inching closer and closer, I’ve been doing everything I can to prep for this festive season. I’ve been wrapping presents like crazy (my wrapping paper, scissors, tape and gift labels never leave my side during the month of December), tying up end-of-year tasks at my day job and decorating my house so it reflects a little Christmas cheer.
I love this time of year. It’s such a special time and for me, the magic of the holidays hasn’t been lost. I know a lot of people that are indifferent about all the festivities that occur during December, but it’s always been a season that I look forward to.Read More
Fall is in full swing and Thanksgiving has come and gone! This past holiday, my husband and I celebrated with his side of the family. Everyone in his family is spread out across the U.S., so it was nice to be together and spend quality time with one another. One of my favorite things about holiday gatherings is picking out the place settings and table décor. Leading up to Thanksgiving, I was brainstorming ways to decorate the table for this year’s Thanksgiving and I have some great ideas to share with you for your next Thanksgiving. Aside from setting the table with autumn-inspired décor, one of the most important things I decide on each year is the type of wine that my family and I will toast with. Before the Thanksgiving meal is served, it’s always great to have a toast, say “cheers” and clink glasses with those around the table.Read More
Merry Christmas, everyone! Wishing you all a fantastic holiday filled with lots of love and laughter. I'm spending the day with my husband's side of the family. We'll be eating a delicious Christmas brunch (featuring my husband's delicious homemade cinnamon rolls), opening gifts and then relaxing a bit before dinner. I love this time of year because it allows me to get dressed up for so many fun occasions. From holiday parties at work to Christmas eve church service and then New Year's Eve on the 31st, there's always something to look forward to during the last few weeks of December.
As I've gotten older, I've become more selective when it comes to asking for gifts and presents. Since I'm almost always on my phone or my computer, I've definitely been converted to an online shopper. I bought more than 95% of my gifts for others this year online. It's just so convenient to browse around and find the perfect thing - whether it be a piece of clothing, a new gadget or something for your home - without ever having to step foot in a mall or department store.Read More
It's that time of year again! The season of celebrations. First up we have Halloween, next we have Thanksgiving and then the holidays will be here before we know it. I don't know about you, but the holidays are an extremely busy time of year for my family and I. We're always on to go attending things like Christmas parties, community events and church services. Since I've never hosted a holiday party of my own, I figured that this year would be the perfect time to do so. I wanted to get a jump start on my holiday party planning since my calendar for the upcoming months is jam-packed (if I don't set aside time now to plan, it'll never get done). Trying to coordinate a get together with my family and friends can be challenging since we all have busy schedules, but I figured I’d get the ball rolling now and get a date on the calendar reserved.
When it comes to parties and events, there are so many things to figure out. The theme, the guest list, the time and date, the menu and most importantly, the invitations. I've always loved stationery and I think that a well-designed invitation sets the tone for any upcoming event.Read More
