Have you ever had a plant-based burger? Up until recently, I had never had one, but I had heard so many great things about them. I knew I had to try one, so this past week I cooked up the new Awesome Burger from Sweet Earth Foods. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when cooking the burger, but the process was super easy – I just took the patty out of the package and seared it in a non-stick pan on the stove. Once it was done cooking, I placed it on my favorite brioche bun and added some ketchup, mustard and a sliced pickle.Read More
I used to be a pretty picky eater, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself branching out and trying more new foods. I don’t like to eat the same things over and over, so having a variety of food on hand in my refrigerator and in my pantry definitely helps to mix things up and ensure that my husband and I are enjoying different meals each week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My friends at Babbleboxx recently sent me an assortment of no fuss foods to try out this fall. Each product in this blog post is bold, flavorful and made with ingredients that are good for you. From RAGÚ® Simply Chunky Marinara Pasta Sauce to Red Diamond Medium Roast Classic Blend Coffee, you’re bound to find something in this blog post that will delight your taste buds.Read More
Happy National Coffee Day! As a way to celebrate, I thought it would be fitting to have a blog post dedicated to coffee today. My husband and I love to experiment with different coffee-inspired drinks and we’re always looking for opportunities to try new blends and recipes. As much as we like to sip on coffee, we’re not afraid to switch things up and add in different flavors like chocolate, vanilla, caramel or frothed milk.
My friends from Capresso sent me their MT900 coffee maker and the froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother. Both of these are must-have products for any coffee lover (the Holidays are coming up, so make sure to keep these in mind for any coffee fans on your list). From a design standpoint, they’re very sleek and modern (both the MT900 and the froth TEC have stainless steel exteriors) and they don’t take up too much counter space. I’m going to highlight the features on both of these products and then I’ll share some great drink recipes that you can make with them later on in this blog post.Read More
Living in Michigan, I have the opportunity to enjoy lots of local products that are made right here in the Mitten State. Michigan is home to the Cherry Capital of the World (Traverse City), plenty of popular breweries like Founders Brewing Co., and Dearborn Sausage Co. No matter what types of food you like, you can find great products - ranging from locally grown fruits and vegetables to snacks like potato chips and pickles - from every corner of Michigan.Read More
I still can't believe that it's almost April. 2018 is flying by and summer will be here before we know it (that's something that I'm definitely excited about). This weekend is Easter and April Fools Day - it'll be so fun to spend some extra time with family. I'll be cheering on the Michigan Wolverines as they face Loyola Chicago in the Final Four NCAA Tournament game this weekend. Go Blue!
I'm excited for today's post because I get to share a few of the brands/products that I've been loving lately with all of you. As a blogger, I have the unique opportunity to learn about and partner with all kinds of different brands. I absolutely love trying new products and finding ones that fit into my lifestyle. Being able to share the items that I love most with all of you is something that I enjoy and I hope all of you enjoy it, too!Read More
There's something so rewarding about cooking a meal that tastes delicious, don't you think? It's even better when you have someone to share a meal with. My husband and I enjoy trying out new recipes and cooking for each other. We both look forward to dinner time because it gives us an opportunity to catch up and hear about each other's day while eating a great meal. From Italian food, to Mexican food and everything in between, we like to switch it up each week and make different recipes that fit with our lifestyle and budget.
The first time I started cooking for myself was when I started living in an apartment during my sophomore year of college. When I was a freshman I lived in the dorms on campus and had a meal plan, but once I was on my own during my second year of college, it was time for me to test my skills in the kitchen. My roommates and I all cooked for ourselves and bought our own groceries, so I mostly stuck to easy or basic recipes that only required a few ingredients and could be made for just one person. Back then, meal delivery services where you can pay a monthly subscription and get food delivered to your door weren't a thing yet. Even so, now that I'm older, I've never enrolled in any because they seemed too expensive for my taste.Read More
