Is it just me, or is this summer flying by? It feels like Memorial Day was just yesterday, yet we’ve already celebrated the 4th of July. Every year and every season seems to pass in the blink of an eye. Speaking of seasons, summertime in Michigan is by far my favorite. There are so many cool places to go and things to see. The weather this summer has been great – 70- and 80-degree days with plenty of sunshine. Warm weather is definitely a welcome sight after the harsh, cold winters we experience in the Mitten State.

A few weeks back over the 4th of July, Mazda was kind enough to let me take their Mazda3 Sedan for a spin! I currently drive an SUV, so getting behind the wheel of a sedan was a weird feeling at first, but it was something that I got used to quickly.

As much as I hate saying goodbye to summer, I do look forward to watching the leaves change colors every autumn. In Michigan, we have several different shades of red, orange and yellow leaves. Some trees are more vibrant than others, but when you look at the fallen leaves on the ground or a cluster of trees next to each other, the colors are so pretty that you’d think that they were straight from a painting.

Road Tripping in the 2017 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring

Growing up in Michigan I’ve been around cars my whole life. My grandpa was a car salesman and both of my parents worked in the automotive industry for their entire careers. Having the Motor City in my backyard and being able to attend events like the North American International Auto Show and the Woodward Dream Cruise every year was and still is so special.

Before landing the job that I have now, I worked at an advertising agency with a few different automotive clients. I used to develop social media content for major car brands and I helped with different advertising initiatives as well. While I held this role, I was able to learn a lot about cars. I used to read owner’s manuals to try and find content to pull from for my projects/tasks. So, since that job exposed me to tons of automotive tidbits, it’s safe to say that I know a lot about cars, especially automotive maintenance and vehicle features.
