4 Must-Have Bags for Traveling

I received products in this post for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

If there's one thing you should know about me it's that I love to travel and be on the go! Going on vacation and exploring new places is so exciting for me. Whether I'm gearing up for a relaxing and laid back beach vacation or jetting off to explore a new city, I have my tried and true packing process and I always have my necessities on hand so that I'm never caught in a new place without my essentials.

Since I grew up traveling, I can pack a suitcase faster than you could imagine. I've been able to get a good grip on what types of bags to pack all my belongings in whether I'm heading somewhere for a day trip or an extended two-week vacay. Since I do a lot of packing (and unpacking) when I go on trips, I thought it would be a good idea to round up four of my favorite bags to travel with. I own all of these products and I can't wait to tell you all about them!

eBags Anti-Theft Backpack

My husband and I are traveling to Germany this fall and as soon as we booked our trip I started thinking of all the things we were going to need to pack and how we would carry our stuff around during our day trips and tours. I'm the type of person that likes to travel light, so I knew that I didn't want to carry around a big and bulky backpack that would have more space than we actually needed. I found the eBags Anti-Theft Backpack and it's exactly what I was looking for. It's small, but it has so many pockets inside. There are two pen pockets with a bloused pocket that is perfect to separate bulky items. I love that this backpack has space for storing pens because you almost always have to fill out forms for customs when traveling internationally. I always like to keep a few pens in my bag just in case). Additionally, this bag has foam lined pocket to store your computer or folded papers vertically, and a key leash with drop pocket to keep keys handy but secluded from your other belongings.

North Face Surge Women's Backpack

A few months ago I was in the market for a new backpack and I did a ton of research before picking this one out. Before getting my North Face Surge, I carried around my Jansport backpack all the way back from 5th grade - how embarrassing is that?! Although my Jansport backpack carried my things, it wasn't as big as I needed it to be and it didn't have many pockets. In all honesty, it was so old that it started falling apart. I knew that my next backpack needed to have dedicated space for things like my laptop, car keys, headphones, books and all of the other things that I travel with on a regular basis.

I originally saw this backpack on North Face's website, but I knew that I could find it for a better price somewhere else. I used Google's shopping feature and found a list of retailers that carried the backpack and compared and contrasted to see where I could buy it from and which retailer had the best price. I also knew that I wanted to purchase this backpack using Ebates. I saw the eBags carried this backpack and on the day I bought it, I was able to earn 13% cash back on my purchase. That shaved off a few bucks and on top of that I was able to get 25% off just from joining eBags' email list!

If you're traveling to a destination where you'll need to carry a bunch of stuff around (llike towels for the beach or purchases from a day of shopping in the city) the Plus 1 bag by SCOUT has got you covered. This bag is amazing because it has so much space. There’s room for all of my things including my gym clothes, water bottle, phone charger and more. The best part is that there’s a detachable inside pouch that you can use to store smaller items. This is the perfect tote bag for traveling, spending a day at the beach or running errands during the day. The pattern on my bag is called Midnight in Paris, but there are tons of other patterns to choose from on the SCOUT bags website!

eBags Anti-Theft HOBO

I just returned from a weekend getaway to Boston (stay tuned for a blog post all about my trip!) and I carried the eBags Anti-Theft Hobo with my everywhere I went. It was absolutely perfect for walking around in a big city. Some of my favorite features include the water bottle pocket on the side of the bag and the Snap & Lock mechanisms. I was able to fit my wallet, my phone, my DSLR camera, sunglasses, maps, lip balm and more in this purse and I had plenty of room to spare. The inside of the purse is unbelievably roomy and there are several areas to store things in. I also love the fact that this purse comes with Pacsafe’s RFIDsafe™ pockets. These help keep your personal information safe from unwanted scanning.

If you want peace of mind when you travel and you prefer to carry a hobo/crossbody bag around (I love crossbody purses because they feel so much more secure hoisted over my shoulder and tucked underneath my opposite arm) this is the purse for you! The Carrysafe® straps on this bag are adjustable and you can even unhook the strap and wrap it around a chair to keep your bag more secure if you're sitting down to eat at a restaurant. This bag is functional, lightweight and big enough to store all of your necessities in. I can't recommend this bag enough!

I'm a huge fan of all the bags mentioned above and I can't travel without them. The anti-theft bags are perfect for traveling abroad (you never know who could be lurking behind you and trying to pickpocket you). I love that they're not too bulky. Plus, they come in a variety of colors (I chose black since it goes with anything). My North Face backpack is my go-to when I have a lot of small things that won't fit into my carry-on bag. I traveled to Las Vegas on a business trip back in May and I packed my laptop, my toiletries and some books in my North Face backpack. All of the extra pockets came in handy for all of the small souvenirs that I came home with after my trip. Lastly, the SCOUT Plus 1 bag is perfect for a day at the beach or even to pack all of your things in as you head down to your hotel's fitness center. Trust me on this one - if you are looking for some new bags to buy for any of your travels, the four that I've recommended in this post are the ones you'll want to get!

What types of bags do you take with you when traveling? Do you prefer to take a backpack, a purse, a tote bag or something completely different? I'd love to hear your thoughts, so leave me a comment below!
