Monthly Favorites: June 2018

I received product(s) mentioned in the post for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

What a month June was! This summer is off to a nice start and I've been enjoying all of the warm weather we've been having lately. It's been such a great summer season already - the flowers are blooming like crazy, the days are full of sunshine and warms temps...there's really not much to complain about!

Although June was great, I'm excited to see what July has in store. My husband and I have plans to spend the 4th of July up in Northern Michigan with my family, so we're really looking forward to that. It's nice to disconnect a little bit over long holiday weekends and catch up with the people who matter most!

In today's blog post, I'm covering a few of my favorite things from this past June. Read on to see my picks!

Macaroni Grill

My husband and I recently dined at Macaroni Grill to try out their new core menu which features traditional chef-inspired dishes and guest-selected favorites. We both love the atmosphere inside Macaroni Grill. As soon as we sat down at our table we couldn’t help but notice the décor – it literally felt like we were dining in Rome (we traveled to Rome back in 2015 before getting engaged so we really know what eating authentic Italian food in a setting as gorgeous as Rome is like). I ordered the Pasta Milano and it was delicious. I’ve had homemade versions of this before and the dish at Macaroni Grill did not disappoint. The rigatoni noodles were cooked to perfection and the garlic cream sauce was so flavorful. The mushrooms and sundried tomatoes really rounded everything out. It was the perfect meal to enjoy on a date night!

For dessert we ordered the Decadent Chocolate Cake and it was heavenly! The slice was the perfect size for us to split. It was so rich and bursting with chocolate flavor. I loved how the cake was garnished with crushed toffee bars and a dollop of whipped cream.

If you haven’t been to Macaroni Grill in a while, you need to visit to try out their new 11 exciting, chef-inspired dishes and their six guest-selected favorites (available for a limited time at participating locations nationwide).

Where I’m From

I’m a Midwest girl through and through, so when I stumbled upon Where I’m From, I knew I needed to get my hands on some of their Michigan apparel. The shirts are so soft and fit true to size. I’m wearing a size medium in these photos, but I do feel like I could wear a small for a more fitted look. A few other things to note are that the sleeves on these shirts are a little longer than some of the other t-shirts I own, but I honestly kind of like that because it feels like the shirts fit a bit better. From a length standpoint, the shirts fall below my hips which is great. I can’t stand wearing shirts that aren’t long enough, so I was really pleased when I tried these shirts on. My husband was instantly jealous when he saw all of the cool Michigan/Detroit-themed designs. I might have to get him some shirts of his own so we can rock Where I'm From shirts together!

Fenn Valley Wine

It seems like the canned wine craze it at an all-time high right now, don’t ya think? Whoever came up with the idea to put wine in a can is a genius. It definitely makes drinking your favorite vino a little easier, especially during the summer when you’re out and about doing activities like visiting the beach or having a picnic in the park with friends. Fenn Valley sent me their new Vino Blanco canned wine, which is a dry, crisp white wine. Each can holds 2 and a half servings of wine, so these cans would be perfect to pour into wine glasses and share with friends. Cheers!
