Holiday Party Planning with Basic Invite

This is a sponsored post written in collaboration with Basic Invite. All opinons are my own.

It's that time of year again! The season of celebrations. First up we have Halloween, next we have Thanksgiving and then the holidays will be here before we know it. I don't know about you, but the holidays are an extremely busy time of year for my family and I. We're always on the go attending things like Christmas parties, community events and church services. Since I've never hosted a holiday party of my own, I figured that this year would be the perfect time to do so. I wanted to get a jump start on my holiday party planning since my calendar for the upcoming months is jam-packed (if I don't set aside time now to plan, it'll never get done). Trying to coordinate a get together with my family and friends can be challenging since we all have busy schedules, but I figured I’d get the ball rolling now and get a date on the calendar reserved.

When it comes to parties and events, there are so many things to figure out. The theme, the guest list, the time and date, the menu and most importantly, the invitations. I've always loved stationery and I think that a well-designed invitation sets the tone for any upcoming event.

When you have an invitation that's eye-catching, it won't get lost in the shuffle among other pieces of mail. Think about it: when you receive a pretty card or invitation in the mail, where do you put it? Most likely on your refrigerator, right? Chances are that your family and friends do the same.

For my holiday party invitations, I'm going to design and purchase them from Basic Invite. Basic Invite is my number one choice for stationery needs because their website is super easy to navigate and the customization options when it comes to their stationery are virtually endless. You can really make your vision come to life and select from an array of colors and fonts (180 different colors, to be exact). Not only can you edit and design the front of your holiday stationery, you can select what the back of the invitations will look like and you can choose from lots of different envelope designs. Basic Invite also offers foil designs in gold, silver or rose gold.

One thing I love about Basic Invite is that you can order samples before you commit to a big order. So, knowing that I’ll be ordering a bunch of invites, I placed an order for a few samples so I could see the stationery and feel the paper quality in person.

Ordering stationery samples makes things a lot easier because not only can you hold the stationery in your hands and decide if you like the design and the feel of it, but you can figure out what you might need to purchase as far as postage goes. This will only help you in the long run when budgeting for your special events like holiday parties, birthday parties or even weddings (Basic Invite offers stationery and cards for a variety of occasions so you can use them for any of your needs when it comes to paper goods).

It also helps to get samples because then you can see how big the envelope for the stationery will be. This is great if you’re going to be hiring a calligrapher to address your cards, invites, etc. If having the names of friends and families printed on envelopes is more your style (it’s seriously such a time saver – worth the investment in my opinion for sure!) you can have Basic Invite handle that for you. Just review the addressing options when customizing your stationery. Some options you can take advantage of are including your return address, picking your envelope colors and formatting your text.

Adding the addresses of family and friends is super easy - all you have to do is create an account on Basic Invite's website and then you use Basic Invites' Address Capturing Service. The address capturing service allows you to simply share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request your friends and family’s addresses. Once you collect the addresses you need, they'll be stored in your Basic Invite account and you can select them during the design process.

So, if saving time and money on addressing envelopes for your Christmas cards this year sounds like something you're interested in, you'll be happy to know that Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all Christmas card orders! With over 250 Christmas and holiday card designs to choose from, including photo Christmas cards, winter holiday party invitations and Christmas party invitations, I'm confident you'd find something you like.

So if I still haven't convinced you that Basic Invite is the best option when it comes to ordering paper goods online for any of your upcoming occasions (especially the holidays), here are a few other benefits that I think will win you over:
- Free peel and seal envelopes are included with most card orders
- You can review your design with the Instant Preview feature and make adjustments to your card until you feel it's absolutely perfect
- The prices of the cards, stationery, etc. are super reasonable - you won't be able to find value like Basic Invite offers anywhere else
