I wanted to switch things up today and share a post with my five favorites from this week! These are all things that I'm currently obsessing over. Hope you find some new favorites in this list!
1. Easter Decorations:
I am so glad that winter is finally over and I can't believe that Easter is right around the corner. It kind of seems like Christmas was just yesterday, don't you agree?
I'm loving the springtime weather and it's amazing to see all of the flowers that are blooming already. The tulips in our front yard are starting to sprout and a few flowers have come up in our back yard as well!
I'm the type of person that loves to decorate the house for holidays. I think it's a fun way to keep decor seasonal and fresh. My friends over at PAPYRUS sent me some fun Easter goodies and I just had to share them with you. First we have this adorable mossy bunny. It's sitting pretty on the end table in my living room right now and it adds a great springtime feel to my home. They also sent over this cute little gift bag which is perfect to stuff with candy or other small Easter treats.
If you're looking to pick up a few last minute Easter decorations before Sunday rolls around, you should definitely check out the selection at PAPYRUS. If anything, pick up some cards to send to your loved ones in the mail or grab a gift to give to your Easter brunch, lunch or dinner host/hostess.
2. Sous Vide
If you want to take your cooking to the next level, you need to read on. My husband and I were watching Shark Tank a week or two ago and two entrepreneurs were pitching a product called the Nomiku. This is a sous vide (pronounced soo vee) device that cooks food in a vacuum sealed bag. Sounds weird, but keep reading. You submerge the bag into a water bath and the sous vide controls the water temperature and keeps it circulating. The end result leaves you with perfectly cooked meal. I'm talking steaks are cooked from edge to edge. It's amazing!
My husband did some research and decided to purchase the Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker* since it had great reviews and it was a good price. We had pork chops this week and I used to either cook them in the oven or on a George Foreman. My husband made them using the sous vide this week and they were probably the best pork chops I've ever had. The meat was moist, tender and just all around delicious!
The cool thing about the Anova device is that it has an app. When you use the app, you select the type of meat you're cooking. You select the cut and then choose the one you'll be cooking with. You use the app to select how you'd like the meat to be cooked. When we made steaks over the weekend, we were able to flip through the options and see actual photos showing rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, etc. Once you select your preference, the sous vide automatically sets the cooking temperature on the device so the water gets heated appropriately.
So, if you're into cooking and you're looking for a product to help you achieve perfect results every time when you serve steak, chicken, pork, seafood, etc., the Anova is an awesome gadget that you should think about getting. It would make a perfect gift, too.
3. Jillian Michaels Workout DVDs
I am a huge fan of at-home workouts! For me it's just so nice to get a workout in on my own time and in my own home. No one stares or judges and I can fit workouts into my schedule whenever I'm able to. Luckily, I have a gym at my workplace, so if I'm really wanting to use weight machines or exercise equipment, I definitely have access to that for free. #WorkPerks
After taking some time off to relax and just enjoy myself after my wedding, I'm getting back into the swing of things with my workouts. As I was preparing for my wedding, I did a mixture of various Jillian Michaels workout DVDs and cardio. By the time my wedding day came around, I was in the best shape of my life. I will note that I changed my eating habits and that played a big part in getting fit as well, but 30 Day Shred*, Ripped in 30* and Extreme Shed and Shred* helped my arms, legs and abs get super toned.
I'm super pumped to get back into a great workout routine and I'm loving these DVDs. All you need is 30 minutes, some hand weights and enough room to do moves like jumping jacks and walking lunges.
4. Spring/Easter Sales
I’m totally loving all of the spring/Easter clothing sales right now. I’m and Old Navy and Gap kind of girl, and they’ve been offering anywhere between 40 and 50% off lately. I picked up a few items for myself and got some things for my husband, too.
Since I have a laptop for work, I use a Michael Kors tote bag to carry it in. It’s my go-to bag for storing all of my work essentials. I got it a few years ago for Christmas and unfortunately, it’s starting to fall apart. The straps are starting to crack and peel. I knew I needed to get a new tote bag for work, so I found this Classic Faux-Leather Tote in New Cognac at Old Navy. I love the size and the color. Best of all, it’s on sale for $25 right now! YAAAASSSS!
I also stocked up on a few tanks and shirts. I love olive green colors right now so I got a tank with three little buttons in the front. You can see it here. Aside from that, I grabbed this eyelet shirt which is perfect to wear with denim shorts or capris. I can see myself rocking this top at summer BBQ’s.
5. Adult Coloring Books
Why did I wait so long to get into adult coloring books?! They are seriously so fun (and relaxing, too). I've teamed up with Vera Bradley and Fox Chapel Publishing to give away a pair of Vera Bradley adult coloring books to a lucky reader. These coloring books have all of your favorite Vera Bradley patterns and designs. The books are high quality, durable and perfect for using colored crayons, colored pencils, markers - whatever you like to color with! Pictured below are the floral patterns* coloring book and the paisley patterns* book. Enter below and good luck!
What are some items that you're currently loving? I'd love to hear. Share with me in the comments below so I can check them out!
