Remember when you were younger, and you had a piggy bank where you’d stash away all of your money in hopes of cashing it in for something you had your eye on? Maybe you wanted a new toy. Maybe you wanted a new game. No matter what it was that you were saving up for, you set a goal and put away a little money here and a little money there to reach it. Now that you’re an adult, saving money follows the same concept, right? A little saving can go a long way and help you reach your goals.Read More
My husband and I live in a fairly old house and the appliances we have could use a little TLC. Lately we’ve been discussing which appliances we should replace and getting a new dishwasher was definitely on the list. Sometimes we do dishes by hand, but we prefer to load our dishes into the dishwasher and clean them that way. The dishwasher that we have now how a broken knob, so we have to turn it a certain way whenever we want to run a new cycle. In addition, it’s pretty loud so we only run it during the day when we’re home.Read More
Summer is winding down and back to school season is almost here! Starting school again after a great summer can be so bittersweet. While it’s sad to leave the freedom of summer behind (no homework), getting back to school means starting a new routine, making new friends and most importantly, learning new things.
Before a new school year starts, it’s always a good idea to stock up on new supplies, books and best of all, new pieces to add to your wardrobe. I’ve been shopping at Kohl’s for years and I love the variety of tops, bottoms, dresses, and everything in between from the Candie’s collection in the Junior’s Department.Read More
This month my husband and I are celebrating our third wedding anniversary! With every year that goes by, we talk about having kids and when we’d like to expand our family. We both want to wait a few more years until we welcome a baby so we can do things like buy a new house, travel and spend time together as just the two of us. While it would be great to conceive and have kids naturally down the road, we know that it’s important for us to explore our options and ensure that welcoming children is something that we’ll be able to do in the future. One of the options that we’re considering is egg freezing.Read More
Is it just me, or is this summer flying by? It feels like Memorial Day was just yesterday, yet we’ve already celebrated the 4th of July. Every year and every season seems to pass in the blink of an eye. Speaking of seasons, summertime in Michigan is by far my favorite. There are so many cool places to go and things to see. The weather this summer has been great – 70- and 80-degree days with plenty of sunshine. Warm weather is definitely a welcome sight after the harsh, cold winters we experience in the Mitten State.
A few weeks back over the 4th of July, Mazda was kind enough to let me take their Mazda3 Sedan for a spin! I currently drive an SUV, so getting behind the wheel of a sedan was a weird feeling at first, but it was something that I got used to quickly.Read More
How do you know when you’re ready to have a baby? From what I’ve heard, no one is really ready for parenthood. It’s just something that you fully embrace when the time is right. Seeing my friends start families of their own has been so eye-opening and it’s been great to see the way that they care for and interact with their children. My husband, Kyle, and I have talked about having kids and starting a family of our own one day. Before getting married, we discussed our plans for the future and when children might fit into the picture and we both agreed that we wanted to be married for a few years and enjoy being newlyweds before welcoming a baby.Read More
As a young millennial, I have a lot of things going on in my life. Between my full-time job, blogging, traveling, spending time with family and friends and just general hobbies, I’m always on the go. Since I’m awfully busy, I have to carve out time to spend on tasks like paying bills and sorting out my finances. I like to set aside time every few weeks to go over anything and everything related to banking. I have found that being intentional with my finances has made such a difference, especially after entering “adulthood.”Read More
Every generation is different, but there’s just something about millennials, right? GEN Y is the largest living generation and they’re making a splash across a variety of mediums. As the first segment to truly embrace the internet, millennials are all over the latest and greatest social media platforms and it’s no surprise that so many millennials (like myself) have started their own blogs.
GEN Y has embraced everything about connecting with people online and using their platforms as a way to share everything from their favorite products to what they’ve been up to in their daily lives.Read More
