If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE to travel. I'm always looking for new places to go and new things to see. There's something so exciting about exploring a new place with family, friends or even by yourself.
I'm the type of person who would much rather spend my money on experiences than material things. If you came to me and asked if I wanted to go on an all-expense paid vacation or if I wanted a handful of free designer handbags, I'd pick the vacation in a heartbeat. But, that's just me!
Since I'm always on the move (playing off my blog's name - see what I did there?) I wanted to fill you guys in on my travel plans for the upcoming year. I'm definitely looking forward to all of my upcoming trips and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to travel for pleasure and for business purposes.
Without further adieu, here are the places I'll be heading to this year:
Los Angeles, CA
As you might remember, I traveled to LA for a business trip in March. You can read all about my trip here. Traveling to LA was so fun! I'm already itching to head back to Santa Monica. The pier and the beach there are so gorgeous. The colleague that I traveled to LA with in March is heading back there in June and I'm so jealous.
San Francisco, CA & Reno, NV/Lake Tahoe
I love San Fran and Reno/Tahoe. They're two of my favorite places on the west coast! My husband, Kyle, has never been out west and I've been wanting to take him out there for a trip since we started dating. Now that we're married, we're heading on a family vacation to Cali and Nevada very soon! My parents lived in Reno when they first got married and they loved living out there! I grew up skiing in Lake Tahoe so I'm very fond of the area and how beautiful it is. We're definitely planning on seeing the sites in San Fran and doing some hiking while we're in Lake Tahoe.
New York, NY
Shortly after I get back from Cali, I'm going to have to get into an Empire State of Mind because I'll be heading to NYC for a business trip midsummer. While I'm there, 'll be attending a social media conference, so I'm super excited for that. It will be great to meet and network with people from other companies. After my summer trip to NYC, I may be heading back sometime in the fall for a wedding!
D.C. is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. I visited for the first time a few years ago and fell in love. The buildings, landmarks and museums are all so impressive. I could spend all day on the National Mall. During my first visit to D.C., I was actually able to tour the White House! It was one of the coolest experiences. Being able to walk through the place where the President lives is surreal. The tour was mostly confined to the first floor and at the end we were able to walk out of the front door of the White House. For my upcoming trip, I'll be visiting D.C. for another business trip. I have some friends and family in the area so I'm hoping to connect with them during my visit.
Traverse City, MI
Being from Michigan, Traverse City is THE place to go for a long weekend during the summer. It's home to endless cherry tree fields (Traverse City is the cherry capital of the world), gorgeous blue waters that line the bay and a beautiful downtown area filled with shops and restaurants. The nice thing about Traverse City is that it's close to plenty of other northern Michigan attractions. As for me, I'll be spending a lot of time out on the water this summer. Boating, jetskiing and swimming are all in my future!
I'm definitely planning on making a trip to Sandusky this summer so I can head to my favorite amusement park, Cedar Point. If you haven't been to Cedar Point, you haven't lived! It's one of my favorite places to go with family and friends. I could ride roller coasters all day long and there would still be a huge smile on my face at the end of the day. I love any type of roller coaster - tall, fast, sitting, standing, steel, wood. They're all great in my opinion!
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
This is one vacation that I can't wait to go on! My husband and I will be celebrating our one-year anniversary (a few months late) in Cabo! We're heading there in the fall and we'll be staying at a resort that my husband went to several times when he was growing up. I've seen lots of pictures from Cabo and it looks so gorgeous. I can't wait to soak up the sun and spend time in a place that my husband loves!
My husband's family has a vacation home in Naples and we go there as often as we can throughout the year. With working full-time we can't visit as much as we want to, but that's what makes it even more special each time we can make a trip to Florida. Everything about Naples is so nice. The beach, 5th Avenue, the Zoo, the mall - I just love it! Definitely looking forward to heading to Naples later on this year.
Now that I've clued you all in to my travel plans for the year, I'd love to hear where you're planning on traveling or vacationing in 2017. Share with me in the comment section below.
