Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone and the holidays are right around the corner, it’s time for me to reflect on all of the fun that I’ve had this past fall. In my opinion there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing the leaves change colors each fall in Michigan. It’s one of my favorite parts of being a Michigander. I’m so lucky to live in a state that experiences all four seasons. The Mitten State has warm summers, crisp falls, cold winters and mild springs, so there are plenty of things to look forward as each season changes.Read More
Fall is in full swing and Thanksgiving has come and gone! This past holiday, my husband and I celebrated with his side of the family. Everyone in his family is spread out across the U.S., so it was nice to be together and spend quality time with one another. One of my favorite things about holiday gatherings is picking out the place settings and table décor. Leading up to Thanksgiving, I was brainstorming ways to decorate the table for this year’s Thanksgiving and I have some great ideas to share with you for your next Thanksgiving. Aside from setting the table with autumn-inspired décor, one of the most important things I decide on each year is the type of wine that my family and I will toast with. Before the Thanksgiving meal is served, it’s always great to have a toast, say “cheers” and clink glasses with those around the table.Read More
As much as I hate saying goodbye to summer, I do look forward to watching the leaves change colors every autumn. In Michigan, we have several different shades of red, orange and yellow leaves. Some trees are more vibrant than others, but when you look at the fallen leaves on the ground or a cluster of trees next to each other, the colors are so pretty that you’d think that they were straight from a painting.Read More
I used to be a pretty picky eater, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself branching out and trying more new foods. I don’t like to eat the same things over and over, so having a variety of food on hand in my refrigerator and in my pantry definitely helps to mix things up and ensure that my husband and I are enjoying different meals each week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My friends at Babbleboxx recently sent me an assortment of no fuss foods to try out this fall. Each product in this blog post is bold, flavorful and made with ingredients that are good for you. From RAGÚ® Simply Chunky Marinara Pasta Sauce to Red Diamond Medium Roast Classic Blend Coffee, you’re bound to find something in this blog post that will delight your taste buds.Read More
Happy National Coffee Day! As a way to celebrate, I thought it would be fitting to have a blog post dedicated to coffee today. My husband and I love to experiment with different coffee-inspired drinks and we’re always looking for opportunities to try new blends and recipes. As much as we like to sip on coffee, we’re not afraid to switch things up and add in different flavors like chocolate, vanilla, caramel or frothed milk.
My friends from Capresso sent me their MT900 coffee maker and the froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother. Both of these are must-have products for any coffee lover (the Holidays are coming up, so make sure to keep these in mind for any coffee fans on your list). From a design standpoint, they’re very sleek and modern (both the MT900 and the froth TEC have stainless steel exteriors) and they don’t take up too much counter space. I’m going to highlight the features on both of these products and then I’ll share some great drink recipes that you can make with them later on in this blog post.Read More
Studying, traveling, commuting, working, watching a TV show or movie - theses are all times when someone might wear headphones, right? For me, I wear headphones most often when I’m traveling. If I’m going to sit on a long flight, I like to watch a movie or a TV show to help pass the time. Earlier this month, my husband and I went on a trip to Germany (full recap and travel guide coming to the blog soon). In total, we traveled for just over 16 hours round trip. For the majority of the flight we had headphones on and the entire time I kept thinking of how I needed to get headphones that were more comfortable and provided better sound quality.Read More
If you’ve been following along with my blog for a while, you know that I moved around a lot growing up and that I’ve lived in different places, but Michigan has always been the place that I call home. I might be biased, but I am a huge fan of this state and I love everything that it has to offer. As a Michigander, I get to experience all four seasons, enjoy great local foods and drinks from small businesses and restaurants in my area and explore all the natural beauty across the lower and upper peninsulas.
I feel so lucky to live and work in this state and to have a roof over my head every night. Being a young millennial homeowner in Michigan is empowering and exciting. Over the past few years, I have learned a lot about homeownership and what it takes to turn a house into a home. Owning a home is an exciting journey – it not only keeps you on your toes and presents new challenges, but it offers you a space to gather with loved ones and celebrate life’s special moments.Read More
How is it already the end of August?! Summer is my favorite season and it went by in the blink of an eye. I know that a lot of people are fans of fall and can't wait for it to get here (I totally get it - cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice-flavored everything, boots and flannels, etc.), but I'm a summer girl so I'm sad to see this season come to an end. I wish that summer would hang around for a few more weeks, but there are so many things for me to look forward to this fall, so I guess I'm okay with embracing the start of September!
Knowing that August is coming to a close, I wanted to round up my favorite products from this past month. I love sharing these with you all and I'd love to hear if you've used or heard of any of these brands/products. Read on to see my picks for this month!Read More
