Go Boston Card: The Best Way to Experience Boston

Go Boston Card: The Best Way to Experience Boston

I’ve been lucky enough to travel within the U.S. and outside of the U.S., but there are still several cities and states that I haven’t visited yet. I find inspiration on places to visit by talking to family and friends, researching online, browsing on social media and by reading about destinations in magazines and books. One of my favorite things to do each year is to create a list of cities that I want to visit. Since getting married, I’ve included in husband in this yearly ritual and we work together to figure out which destinations we want to visit together.

4 Must-Have Bags for Traveling

4 Must-Have Bags for Traveling

If there's one thing you should know about me it's that I love to travel and be on the go! Going on vacation and exploring new places is so exciting for me. Whether I'm gearing up for a relaxing and laid back beach vacation or jetting off to explore a new city, I have my tried and true packing process and I always have my necessities on hand so that I'm never caught in a new place without my essentials.

Since I grew up traveling, I can pack a suitcase faster than you could imagine. I've been able to get a good grip on what types of bags to pack all my belongings in whether I'm heading somewhere for a day trip or an extended two-week vacay. Since I do a lot of packing (and unpacking) when I go on trips, I thought it would be a good idea to round up four of my favorite bags to travel with. I own all of these products and I can't wait to tell you all about them!

Making Summer Memories with the Mitsubishi Outlander LE S-AWC

Making Summer Memories with the Mitsubishi Outlander LE S-AWC

Over the week of the Fourth of July, my husband and I headed up to Northern Michigan for a week of fun in the sun. My parents have a house on a large lake, so we couldn’t wait to get to their place so we could go swimming, ride jetskis and just relax. We ended up taking the whole week off of work to celebrate the Fourth and my husband’s birthday, so it was really nice to get away and spend time with family.

There is so much to do and see in Northern Michigan, so I knew that we were going to be on the go a lot during our week-long vacation. Between the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City (which takes place during the week of the Fourth) and visiting wineries on Old Mission peninsula, our family had a jam-packed itinerary with lots of activities planned each day.

A Weekend Stay at Graduate Ann Arbor

A Weekend Stay at Graduate Ann Arbor

This weekend my husband and I were invited to stay as guests at the Graduate in Ann Arbor, MI. Although we didn't go to the University of Michigan, we still root for the maize and blue, so getting an invitation to check out the hotel and spend some time in the heart of Ann Arbor was something that we couldn't pass up. My husband had visited Ann Arbor with his friends a lot while he was in college, so he was more familiar with the city when we visited than I was, which proved to be helpful as we walked around and explored. He pointed out all the hot spots that he and his friends used to visit and we discovered some new places along the way as we spent the afternoon downtown. Read on to learn more about Ann Arbor and why you need to stay at Graduate when you visit!

Enjoying Summertime with Cool Cocktails and Fresh Foods

Enjoying Summertime with Cool Cocktails and Fresh Foods

One of my favorite parts about summer - aside from the warm weather and sunny days - is trying new foods and drinks. Whether they’re seasonal or not, my husband and I are big fans of picking up new products at the grocery store and having our very own at-home taste tests. Although we can't get enough of our favorite summer staples like watermelon, corn on the cob and salad (everything from pasta salad and potato salad to fresh garden salads), we’re always open to trying new things.

On warm summer nights we love to eat dinner on our patio in the backyard after work. It's a great way for us to spend some time outside and catch up with each other after a long day. It’s great to sit at our table, enjoy the warm breeze and enjoy a delicious meal together.

The H Hotel: Modern Luxury in Midland, Michigan

The H Hotel: Modern Luxury in Midland, Michigan

During the last weekend in April my husband and I were invited to stay at The H Hotel in downtown Midland, Michigan. The H Hotel is part of Dolce Hotels and Resorts, which is a part of the Wyndham Hotel Group. As a travel blogger, I love to explore new places and check out different hotels, so I knew this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.

Prior to visiting The H Hotel for our overnight stay, I had been to Midland a few times, but I had never visited the downtown area, so I was excited to spend a little bit of time in this quaint town and see everything it had to offer. Midland is part of the Great Lakes Bay Region – a region in Michigan that also includes Saginaw, Bay City, Flint, Birch Run, Chesaning and Frankenmuth. The area offers plenty of things to do such as outdoor activities, shopping and farmer’s markets.

The Perfect Candles for any Gift-Giving Occasion

The Perfect Candles for any Gift-Giving Occasion

If you had to pick your favorite scent, what would it be? When you stop and think about it, that’s a pretty tough question to answer. For me, so many scents are tied to memories so it’s hard to narrow it down and pick just one.

Personally, I love the smell of Lily of the Valley flowers (if you haven’t seen or heard of Lily of the Valley, they’re little white bell-shaped flowers). I remember picking these in my grandparent’s backyard. My grandpa loved gardening, so he would always tell me about his different flowers and plants.

Since I enjoy fresh floral scents, I gravitate toward those types of smells when I’m picking out perfumes and candles. Before I go to work each day, I spritz on a little perfume before I walk out the door. It’s always such a compliment when my coworkers tell me that I smell good or when they ask what type of perfume I’m wearing. Whenever I’m home, I love to have a candle burning while I’m relaxing or working on blog-related tasks. There’s something so soothing about burning a candle and letting the aroma fill the air.
