As much as I hate saying goodbye to summer, I do look forward to watching the leaves change colors every autumn. In Michigan, we have several different shades of red, orange and yellow leaves. Some trees are more vibrant than others, but when you look at the fallen leaves on the ground or a cluster of trees next to each other, the colors are so pretty that you’d think that they were straight from a painting.Read More
I used to be a pretty picky eater, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself branching out and trying more new foods. I don’t like to eat the same things over and over, so having a variety of food on hand in my refrigerator and in my pantry definitely helps to mix things up and ensure that my husband and I are enjoying different meals each week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My friends at Babbleboxx recently sent me an assortment of no fuss foods to try out this fall. Each product in this blog post is bold, flavorful and made with ingredients that are good for you. From RAGÚ® Simply Chunky Marinara Pasta Sauce to Red Diamond Medium Roast Classic Blend Coffee, you’re bound to find something in this blog post that will delight your taste buds.Read More
Happy National Coffee Day! As a way to celebrate, I thought it would be fitting to have a blog post dedicated to coffee today. My husband and I love to experiment with different coffee-inspired drinks and we’re always looking for opportunities to try new blends and recipes. As much as we like to sip on coffee, we’re not afraid to switch things up and add in different flavors like chocolate, vanilla, caramel or frothed milk.
My friends from Capresso sent me their MT900 coffee maker and the froth TEC Automatic Milk Frother. Both of these are must-have products for any coffee lover (the Holidays are coming up, so make sure to keep these in mind for any coffee fans on your list). From a design standpoint, they’re very sleek and modern (both the MT900 and the froth TEC have stainless steel exteriors) and they don’t take up too much counter space. I’m going to highlight the features on both of these products and then I’ll share some great drink recipes that you can make with them later on in this blog post.Read More
Studying, traveling, commuting, working, watching a TV show or movie - theses are all times when someone might wear headphones, right? For me, I wear headphones most often when I’m traveling. If I’m going to sit on a long flight, I like to watch a movie or a TV show to help pass the time. Earlier this month, my husband and I went on a trip to Germany (full recap and travel guide coming to the blog soon). In total, we traveled for just over 16 hours round trip. For the majority of the flight we had headphones on and the entire time I kept thinking of how I needed to get headphones that were more comfortable and provided better sound quality.Read More
I’ve been lucky enough to travel within the U.S. and outside of the U.S., but there are still several cities and states that I haven’t visited yet. I find inspiration on places to visit by talking to family and friends, researching online, browsing on social media and by reading about destinations in magazines and books. One of my favorite things to do each year is to create a list of cities that I want to visit. Since getting married, I’ve included in husband in this yearly ritual and we work together to figure out which destinations we want to visit together.Read More
If there's one thing you should know about me it's that I love to travel and be on the go! Going on vacation and exploring new places is so exciting for me. Whether I'm gearing up for a relaxing and laid back beach vacation or jetting off to explore a new city, I have my tried and true packing process and I always have my necessities on hand so that I'm never caught in a new place without my essentials.
Since I grew up traveling, I can pack a suitcase faster than you could imagine. I've been able to get a good grip on what types of bags to pack all my belongings in whether I'm heading somewhere for a day trip or an extended two-week vacay. Since I do a lot of packing (and unpacking) when I go on trips, I thought it would be a good idea to round up four of my favorite bags to travel with. I own all of these products and I can't wait to tell you all about them!Read More
Over the week of the Fourth of July, my husband and I headed up to Northern Michigan for a week of fun in the sun. My parents have a house on a large lake, so we couldn’t wait to get to their place so we could go swimming, ride jetskis and just relax. We ended up taking the whole week off of work to celebrate the Fourth and my husband’s birthday, so it was really nice to get away and spend time with family.
There is so much to do and see in Northern Michigan, so I knew that we were going to be on the go a lot during our week-long vacation. Between the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City (which takes place during the week of the Fourth) and visiting wineries on Old Mission peninsula, our family had a jam-packed itinerary with lots of activities planned each day.Read More
What a month June was! This summer is off to a nice start and I've been enjoying all of the warm weather we've been having lately. It's been such a great summer season already - the flowers are blooming like crazy, the days are full of sunshine and warms temps...there's really not much to complain about!
Although June was great, I'm excited to see what July has in store. My husband and I have plans to spend the 4th of July up in Northern Michigan with my family, so we're really looking forward to that. It's nice to disconnect a little bit over long holiday weekends and catch up with the people who matter most!
In today's blog post, I'm covering a few of my favorite things from this past June. Read on to see my picks!Read More
